Bio

Rebecca Harvey received her MFA in Ceramics from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and her BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has received international recognition for her artistic practice, including residencies in Dresden, Germany; Uppsala, Sweden; Jingdezhen, China; and Olafsfjordur, Iceland.

Bio

Brad Robinson enjoys learning and nurturing organizational processes, refining systems, and helping people to work to their potential. He believes that this approach enhances the staff, the organization, and its mission. Since 1993, Robinson has founded or managed both for- and nonprofit organizations in Montana. He has been with The Bray since 2014.

Allison Rowland knew she wanted to work at The Bray when she moved to Helenain 2016 and brought her daughter to a clay class. She loves reading science fiction, and biking to work in warm weather. Her favorite part of working at The Bray is getting to know and support all the amazing resident artists.

Bio

In 2001, Lisa “asked Jeeves” what to do when visiting Helena, Montana; she has been a fan of The Bray ever since. After a 15-year stint with an Indigenous rights organization, she rejoined The Bray’s staff in 2023 and is happy to support the efforts to maintain “a fine place to work” and build a more diverse and inclusive ceramic arts community.

Bio

Liz Harrison has been raising money for a variety of Montana and Seattle nonprofits since 2006. Born and raised in New York City, she spent a good portion of her childhood exploring the world-class museums in the city while attending the High School of Music and Art. After college, Liz started working at Random House publishing, eventually moving to California and opening their first West Coast marketing and publicity office. Later, she received a Masters in Divinity from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology which informed her volunteer chaplain service in spiritual care at hospices in three different states. Having lived in Montana for close to 20 years, Liz enjoys being outdoors in any weather, exploring the state’s treasures with her partner and their dog, Sophie.

Shanlee graduated from MSU-Bozeman in 2020 with a BA in Art Education, focused in Printmaking. Afterward, she sought out residency opportunities at various arts foundations across the country, including Second State Press, the LH Project, and Hatch Show Print. In addition to the workspace and educational opportunities she received at these residencies, she also worked in the administrative side of each foundation, where she learned the resourcefulness and tenacity required to operate a professional arts facility. At the Bray, Shanlee will draw on these experiences to support fundraising initiatives and manage donations and grants as Development Coordinator.

Bio

Kathleen graduated from the University of Montana in May of 2023 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Management Information Systems and a Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. After graduation she worked briefly in Colorado but came home to Helena and worked with another nonprofit in town before coming to The Bray. Kathleen first started working in ceramics in high school and took a class in college, keeping many pieces over the years, and is very excited to be back in the art atmosphere.

Trey was born and raised in central Montana, where he first discovered his passion for design in high school. He went on to earn a degree in Graphic Design and, after an internship, expanded his work into print and marketing. Trey later focused on freelance projects for nonprofits, creating both digital and print materials that led to his current role at The Bray. Outside of design, he enjoys searching for pieces of history—collecting antiques, picking through estate sales, and exploring new places with his dog, Shep.

Jordan is a fine arts printmaker and biomedical illustrator, holding an MS in Medical Illustration from Augusta University and the Medical College of GA and a BFA from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT. When she’s not in the studio, Jordan enjoys exploring Montana on bikes and skis, making tasty food and drink with her partner, and getting lost in a good novel.

Avery graduated in 2015 from University of Montana with a degree in Resource Conservation and a minor in Wilderness Studies . Following school she hopped around Montana and careers until falling in love with the weird wonderful place that is Helena in 2019. On any given day you’ll either find her with a good book and cookies in the oven or out on the trails enjoying nature. Avery is excited to bring her events and hospitality experience to the Bray and be immersed in such a creative place.

Lia moved to Montana in 2020 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana. A lifelong artist and writer, her work explores the themes of interdependence, kinship, and relationship to place.

Perry Burlingame is an artist and curator originally from Upstate NY. She from received her BFA in printmaking from the University at Albany and her MFA in Studio Arts from Syracuse University. She has exhibited internationally including shows in Berlin, Germany, New York, NY, and Los Angeles, CA.

Chelsea is a third generation Montana local, originally from Charlo. She has a BFA from Montana State University and graduated in 2017 with an emphasis in ceramics and painting. When she is not in the studio she is with her partner, James, and their fur baby going on plenty of walks, making and exploring good food and drinks, foraging their way through the seasons or sitting around a campfire.

As an avid believer in the power of education, Stephanie Seguin has identified as an artist-educator since the beginning of her career. Stephanie received her MFA from Pennsylvania State University, BFA from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, and has taught for Pennsylvania State University, Colorado Mountain College, and Western New Mexico University, among many community based studios.

Ben Carter is a studio potter, educator, and podcast producer based in New Jersey. In 2021 he joined The Bray staff to work on The Brickyard Network, where he produces Clay in Color, For Flux Sake, The Kiln Sitters, Trade Secret and other podcasts developed for the network.

Perry has been working in clay since 2003. He’s been a resident artist in Denmark at Guldageraard, The Bray, Clay Studio of Missoula and Red Lodge Clay Center. He is inspired by the mountains and streams of the landscape that’s surrounds him in Montana. Perry lives and works out of his home studio in Clancy, Montana.

Chuck Aydlett has been on faculty at Pennsylvania State University (’94-‘97), St. Cloud
State University (’97-’98), and Winona State University (’00-’09). He currently lives and
maintains a studio in Helena, MT where he manages the Clay Business at the Archie
Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts.

Bio

David has a BFA in ceramics from Utah State University and a MFA from Montana State University. He fell in love with Helena and the Bray back in 2007 when he was a resident artist. It was then that he began to specialize in using local materials to make his work. Today he is enjoying exploring woodworking during his studio time.

Bio

Cole Collier received his BA in Art with an emphasis in Ceramics from the University of Southern Indiana. With a diverse background in technology, education and ceramics, he currently works in multiple capacities across The Bray. His love of all things clay began in the kitchen and in his work continues to explore the connections between utilitarian tableware and the rituals that surround the preparation and presentation of a shared meal.

A working potter and lover of technical ceramic information, Todd Pentico has been answering all types of technical questions at the Bray since 2015. Pentico holds an MFA in ceramics from University of Arkansas School of Art. He enjoys working with artists at The Bray, and its location in Montana feeds his lifelong obsession with trout fishing.
