Announcement in Leadership Transition
Today, Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts (The Bray) announced that Rebecca Harvey has stepped down from her role as executive director to return to her studio practice.
The Bray will continue to be led by current Managing Director Brad Robinson in the interim while the board of directors undertakes a search for permanent leadership.
For more than three decades, Robinson has founded and led both nonprofit and for-profit organizations across Montana. Since joining The Bray in 2014, he has been a core member of the leadership team, playing a vital role in strategic planning, budgeting, staff management and policy development. Robinson has also directed key program areas, including education, the gallery and the residency program, helping to shape the organization’s vision and impact.
“It’s an honor to help guide The Bray through this next chapter as we approach our 75th anniversary in 2026,” said Robinson. “Over this time, we’ve grown into an internationally acclaimed creative center for the ceramics community, and are widely recognized as the American birthplace of contemporary ceramic arts. We are grateful to Rebecca for helping The Bray grow in stature, and wish her well in her next chapter.”
Harvey served as executive director at The Bray for three years. During her tenure she led several key initiatives, including guiding the opening of the downtown gallery, securing grant funding to renovate and preserve a portion of the Tile Factory grounds on campus, improving safety at the Bray Clay business, and launching efforts to catalog the organization’s expansive ceramics permanent collection.
As it approaches its 75th year in 2026, The Bray is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion among its artists, staff, board and throughout the ceramics community.
